Catch-Up Bookkeeping
Months or years behind? We'll reconstruct it, reconcile it and get you current — quickly, and without a single lecture.
Almost every business owner we meet has had a period where the books got away from them. A busy season, a resignation, a bookkeeper who disappeared, or just life. It is far more common than anyone admits at networking events.
The longer it sits, the heavier it feels — but it is genuinely fixable. We rebuild the history from bank statements and whatever records exist, reconcile it properly, get your outstanding submissions in, and then keep you current going forward.
What’s included
- Reconstruction of prior periods from bank statements and available records
- Full reconciliation of all bank, card and loan accounts
- Identifying and correcting duplicated or misallocated transactions
- Bringing outstanding VAT, PAYE and income tax submissions up to date
- A clear position statement showing exactly where you stand
- A plan to keep you current from that point on
From "I do not want to think about it" to fully up to date and compliant — usually far faster and far less painfully than you expect.
Who this is for
- Businesses more than two months behind
- Anyone facing a SARS deadline, funding application or audit with incomplete books
- Owners who inherited a mess from a previous bookkeeper
Questions about catch-up bookkeeping
How far behind is too far behind?
There is no such thing. We have started from bank statements alone with several years to reconstruct. The work scales with the volume of transactions, not with how guilty you feel about it.
How long will it take to catch me up?
It depends on how many periods and how many transactions are involved. After a look at your bank statements we give you a realistic timeline and a fixed quote before any work begins.
Will I be judged for how bad it is?
No. Genuinely. This is a normal part of the job and there is nothing you can show us that we have not seen. Our only interest is getting you sorted.
Ready to sort out your catch-up bookkeeping?
Tell us where things stand — including if the honest answer is 'it's a mess'. We'll come back with a plan and a fixed price.
